What is your work process?
From start to finish, each work process can differ slightly depending on the client or project, but in general:
Initial contact. Clients presents inquiry of work or a proposal request for a project.
Meet and discuss. We schedule a meeting, via phone/video/in-person, to discuss: the details of the project, the expectations, and the desired timeline
Project proposal and budget. Within the “meet and discuss”, we discuss the budget and charges for work. The budget should always be representative of the work expected. When we agree on the proposed charges, I will send the client an invoice detailing the charges along with an agreement.
Start work. Prior to beginning, I will first need all related research material for the project from the client, this can include any rough sketches, ideations, and literature. Providing this allows me to “hit the ground running” with my workflow.
Research and draft. The first steps immediately after researching is to provide the client with the first draft sketches, which they will review and provide comment or further directives. If the client would prefer, we can schedule another call or they can send their notes over with a ‘green light’ to continue work.
Work. Complete work in requested style, in accordance to the previously agreed upon timeline.
Feedback. There are 2 rounds of feedback allowed per work process. The first feedback session is Immediately after the submission of rough draft drawings, any changes or modifications should be requested here. The second is after the notes requested from the sketch drafts are applied into the 1st draft. If client is satisfied with the applied changes, then I finalize the illustration.
Delivery of work. Work will be delivered on time in the final file type that was declared on the invoice and agreement.
Payment. Upon completion and submission of the work outlined in the invoice, the client will receive the final bill of charges with specified pay date.
can you provide a definite timeline for work?
